BOBBY YANG
Coach / Personal Trainer
I am a Level 3 trainer based at Les Mills Hamilton City, New Zealand. I am currently studying towards a Master Degree in Sports and Exercises Science, and already have a Bachelor degree in Physical Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports and Exercises Science.
I have been involved in different sports from a young age and as a sprinter broke a 100m record at provincial level. On several occasions, I represented my province at a national level in China in the 100m sprint.
For 14 years I lectured at the Xi'an Institute of Physical Education, China and during this time I developed a Strength and Conditioning program for my department as well as being a specialist coach for sprints and hurdles. Being selected as a National Technical Official for Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2008 has been the highlight of my career so far.
I believe good technique is the key to preventing injuries, achieving your training goals and maximizing your potential.
I am a motivator, and I love to listen and help my clients overcome their fitness limitations.
I enjoy cooking, and have a good understanding of how food affects our bodies. Knowing our daily nutritional requirements, combined with good food planning, are strong contributing factors to greater health, and improved sports performance.

WHAT I DO

My main role is to help people with their wellness and fitness through regular exercises and good eating habits and I am also very passionate about helping athletes increase their performance level through strength and conditioning coaching and sports nutrition education.

Health and Fitness Management
Weight control, strength, stability, and mobility are some of the most common requests I get from my clients. I help and guide them to achieve their goals safely and effectively with good technique and nutritional support.
Speed and agility/ Sports specific training
With a background in athletics, I am passionate about speed and helping you get faster! I have helped athletes from different sport disciplines, including soccer, basketball, netball, hockey and track and field with their speed, agility and power performance.
Health Promotion/Education
I offer workplace and school workshops to encourage people to participate in exercise and sports activities, and improve their general health and wellbeing. Sound nutritional knowledge plus simple exercises go a long way towards achieving optimal health.

HOW DO I HELP

I am based at Les Mills Hamilton, New Zealand and train my clients at this world leading fitness facility.

Personal Training

Typically weekly based training sessions at Les Mills (gym membership required), for 1 hour or 1/2 hour depending on your goals.

Sports Specific Training

These sessions can be 1-on-1 or in a small group ( 2-6 people). I provide a periodized program (6-12 weeks) designed around the sporting season and the amount of time you can spend on your conditioning training. Option of gym based training or off site training available.

Health Promotion/Education

Workshops promoting healthy food choices are tailor made to cater for schools, workplaces, gyms, community centres and other facilities.

Nutrition Plans

You are what you eat. I believe food choices play a very important role in our health, sports performance, and fitness. Food plans have to be practical and doable. With a good understanding of nutrition and the role it plays in our lives, achieving health and fitness goals becomes a whole lot easier.
